English L4 FACSO: Almendra Muñoz

My best vacation was 2020, when I went with my friends to Ecuador. It was a very beautiful experience where we got to know many places and people. We went to many cities: Quito, Cuenca, Baños, Portete, Puerto Misahualli and the jungle. We spent almost a month in the country, which gave us the time to visit many places. It was a very important cultural experience, since we learned about how people lived in Ecuador such as being a woman there, as well as the importance of religion in the country. We met a group of dancehall dancers and they told us about their experiences.  It was the best vacation because I lived it with my friends and many things happened to us. Now they are very funny memories.

In these last years new interests and dreams have come to my mind. One of these is being able to travel to Cuba to learn to dance AfroCubano, which consists of beautiful dances. I would like to dance there because in dance you can learn a lot about the culture of a place and enjoy it in another way.  Cuba is a country with a very interesting history of resistance, and although many people define it as a poor country that suffers, I would like to know the reality of the country.  I would like to be able to study there and stay as long as I consider necessary to learn. I share two very beautiful documentaries that tell a little about Rumba, a fundamental dance in Cuba.
